About us

G Free Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of high quality gluten and wheat free products. G Free was founded in November 2002 and began trading in February 2004.

Based in Honiton, Devon, we are one of the few dedicated gluten and wheat free bakeries in the UK. We have 2000 square feet of floor space tailored solely to the production of gluten and wheat free foods.

Company Background

G Free was set up to confront the disappointing lack of accessible good tasting gluten and wheat free foods. Managing Director, Paula Deacon, herself a suffer from a severe gluten intolerance, spent years after diagnosis researching alternative ingredients, cooking methods, recipes, and consumer needs before developing our range of products.

The Market Place

Coeliac UK (the leading charity working for people with coeliac disease) estimated as many as 1 in 100 people suffer from coeliac disease.
Our products offer the perfect option not only to suffers of coeliac disease but also those people simply trying to cut back on the daily amount of wheat they eat either due to an intolerance or as part of a detox diet.

Healthy Living and Nutrition

Our products are nutritionally balanced and are intended to form part of a healthy living diet. Apart from being wheat and gluten free the other health benefits of the products include low salt content, use of non-hydrogenated fats and free from genetically modified ingredients. Low levels of preservatives are only used when necessary. Free range eggs are used in all our cakes.

Managing Director - Paula Deacon

Paula originally trained as a Home Economist at Plymouth Domestic Science College. She subsequently worked as a cook, product development chef and lecturer in adult education. She has written her own wholefood cookery book and recipe book for organic meat.
