Special Diets Directory is a multi-pronged campaign to not only publicise the huge and hidden availability of produce suitable for allergy and food intolerance sufferers as well as anyone on a special diet, but to then make sure the most cost effective and efficent options are in place to deliver. We are also passionate about environmental issues and so have hit on this ' green' approach Food and Product Transport considerations:
- Fuel prices are high - this new network is addressing the problem before food and transport businesses get brought down by it.
- The recession makes it even more essential for every business to be able to trade freely
- Geography should not be a deal breaker
- 'Considering our Carbon footprint ' and environmental impact has to be taken into account
- Buying locally often isn't an option for speciality foods and goods
- The costs of getting specialist products from A to B is often prohibitively expensive and sometimes unviable on a logistical level
- Producers Wholesalers, retailers caterers and Carriers need this central hub where they can network and link up to optimise time and costs.
- Many producers who could share deliveries haven't met..... yet!

- Customer demand for special dietary foods currently way outstrips availability and diversity - transportation restrictions can often be the key limiter

This section aims to match business customer delivery requirements with transport and carriage companies who (in return for being able to network with a host of new customers and 24/7 opportunities of filling part loads) offer proactive and flexible with transport options, and preferentail rates for SpecialDD generated orders and deliveries.
All parties from manufacturer to point of sale can network both between themselves and with the various preferred carrriers to get the produce to it's destinataion via the Carriage Point section of the site.
The 'Share a Delivery' Bulletin Board not only enables producers to group together to consolidate deliveries but allows Carriers to post their spare capacity and optimise their costs too.
As well as being able to network with the advertisers they will also have contact with the retailers. caterers, wholesalers and end users who stock, distribute and buy the goods.
Preferred carriers can also have a listing in the public area of the site - and who knows where that could lead?!
In a nutshell - a melting pot of complimentary transportation and carriage needs and solutions ready to stir!
